If someone plays the piano by ear,does that person have to rely on written sheet music and do they have to learn chords or can they play piano without knowing a single chord?
I play piano using the black key flow exercise(playing with all black keys) and I sometimes play with all white keys,I don’t want to have to rely on written music.

no sheet music because i cant read it. but i want the piano chords please! i need a website or something or if you know them please give them to me. i cant find a piano tutorial on youtube

I bought a keyboard a few months ago, but I don’t really know what to do. I really want to learn how to play, but I find I have a lot of trouble with motivation. I do like to try to learn sheet music, but I’m not sure if I will learn anything from this. Does anyone know of some good websites that offer more theory on piano (chord progressions and such)? I ask this because I already play a few instruments so I know the basics and it’s really hard to find lessons that aren’t catered towards absolute beginners.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get the sheet music to The song So Much Love by Rocket Summer. I just need the piano part.

i am trying to play the song point of no return from phantom of the opera on the piano. i cant read sheet music but if someone were able to give me chords on put a tutorial on youtube for me that would be awesome!

Same with the other letters with 5 as well(A5,B5,C5,etc,etc). b/c ive been trying to learn this song with so many 5chords and when i went to look up the sheet music there wasnt the fingering for any 5chords.

I’ve only been able to find one set of tabs for this song, and it’s just the intro. They’re accurate, but they’re not enough, since I’d like to know the whole song.

I’d like to know what the chords are being played during the chorus ("I saw you outside … I’d like you anywhere, but Black Leaf Falls") and the last two chords played alongside the piano at the end.

If you’re doubly talented, I’d also be extremely grateful if you could transcribe the notes being played on the piano at the 2:02-2:15 marks and at the end of the song.

Please note that I have trouble reading sheet music, especially for guitars. For reading guitar music, I prefer tabs. I usually learn piano by watching people play, but writing down the letter notes works, too.

I’m currently teaching myself piano and I am learning chords through online lessons. However, I’d like to be able to recognize chords on sheet music as well as just know where to put my fingers on the piano. Does anyone know where I might find a book that teaches all the possible chords for piano (yes, all of them) and lists all of them on staff lines? Sort of like a chord collection book, if you will. Any help would be much appreciated!

ive been playing piano for about a year now. im 13.

ive been teaching myself how to play piano. i love to play it.
i like to play classical and jazz.
i teach myself from tutorials on youtube. they give the notes and the chords for the songs.

i can read sheet music because i play flute and saxophone but i cant read piano .
i can try to but it gets too frustrating if im teaching myself.
