fastpianolessons.com for my free Chords 101 course! This is the second video in the chords 101 series, make sure you watch DAY 1 – Half steps and whole steps. It covers everything you need to know to build major and minor chords. There are 12 major chords and 12 minor chords, 24 total. They all look different, white keys, black keys, etc. but the easier way to remember all the chords is these two formulas 4+3 & 3+4 To find each chord, count up the half steps: Major Chords = 4half steps + 3half steps Minor Chords = 3half steps + 4half steps

Free guitar lesson – Power chord inversions for heavy riffs

www.homestudioland.com Power chord inversions can be useful to achieve more range on a 6 string guitar, as well as allow you to move less around the fretboard. Chord inversions (kind of like scale modes, same principle!) are very useful in all styles of music, but this can really help you with your heavy riffing if you’re into the extreme stuff like death metal, black metal, thrash metal, etc. Power chord inversions can make your 6 string guitar come off as a 7 string guitar. Scales modes, arpeggio inversions, and chord inversions – all intervals, but this lesson concentrates on power chord inversions specifically. Breaking outside of the simple and everyday run of the mill chords will give you MANY more options and paths to take on the fretboard when fretting. Chord inversions also have a unique sound compared to normal chords, though you usually can’t tell unless you’re listening for it. t’s sort of lke drop D, but not really. If you work on your downpicking and apply chord inversions, heavy riffs await you!
