I’m a little confuse, the VI chord is suppose to be minor.

yeh it sounds more logical as a minor but that thirds a nice leading tone its a C# drop to C acciental kinda deal.

yes it is. but the “A” also refers to “D” as a “V-Chord”. so it’s possible to play A7 instead of Am7.
